Addy, 1864

Introduced to children in 1993, Addy Walker and her stories represent African-Americans and slavery during the tail end of the Civil War and the early Reconstruction Era. Her stories take place in North Carolina and Philadelphia in 1864. Renowned author Connie Porter wrote Addy’s stories.
