Troubles for Cécile and Marie-Grace

Cécile and Marie-Grace love spending time and helping at a nearby orphanage. Together, the girls run around the courtyard with the children, teach them dominoes and jacks, and make up new games. The girls especially love to play with Phillip, the baby they saved earlier in the summer.

Just when the girls thought everything was better, Cécile hears that the rumor of yellow fever comes true. The terrible and horrible sickness is spreading fast throughout the city. Many people are getting sick and dying.

Soon the girls find out that sickness has struck the ones they love. Cécile’s older brother, Armand and the girl's singing teacher, Mademoiselle Océane, both have yellow fever. Cécile and Marie-Grace wonder if there is anything they can do to help the ones they love.
