Melody, 1964

Introduced to children in 2016, Melody Ellison and her stories represent the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. Her stories take place in Detroit, Michigan in 1964. Renowned author Denise Lewis Patrick wrote Melody’s stories. A movie about Melody was released in 2016 starring Marsai Martin.
