Kirsten’s Surprise
It’s Kirsten and her family’s first Christmas in America. Excited to celebrate this holiday with her family, Kirsten decides that it is important to keep some of their Swedish traditions alive and plans to surprise her family with a Saint Lucia celebration. Kirsten and her cousins start to plan, but those plans are stopped when they realize that everything they need is in the Larsons' trunk in town.
Papa and Kirsten finally make the trip to town to pick up the family trunks, but they get caught in a terrible blizzard. When Papa hurts his leg, it’s up to Kirsten to lead everyone—and the trunks—to safety. After the storm dies down, Kirsten and her Papa finally reach home. Realizing that it is Saint Lucia Day, Kirsten and her cousins quickly set everything up. What will her family think of the celebration? Kirsten can only hope that it will be the best Christmas ever.
