Happy Birthday, Samantha

Spring is in full bloom in Mount Bedford for Samantha’s birthday party. Cornelia’s ten year old twin sisters, Agnes and Agatha, have traveled from New York City to celebrate, as well as Uncle Gard and Cornelia, who introduce Samantha to their puppy, Jip. But when Samantha’s neighbor, Eddie Ryland, plays a mean trick, the party is almost ruined. 

The twins save the day by inviting Samantha to New York City to visit a fancy ice cream parlor. However, when the girls break a few rules, they find themselves in danger. Jip has run away in the big city and it is up to the girls to find him.

The girls find Jip, but they also find Cornelia, who is speaking to a group of suffragists. Grandmary, who initially doesn’t care about voting, changes her mind when she hears Cornelia speak. Samantha soon learns that this is the best birthday ever.
