Changes for Julie

When Julie gets school detention for passing a note to her new friend, Joy, she is upset. Because Joy is deaf, she has a hard time understanding and reading her teacher’s lips and usually asks Julie for clarification. But their teacher does not care. Angered, Julie decides to run for student-body president so she can make changes at school.

When Julie decides to have Joy as her running mate, she finds out that other students don’t like her. They think Joy is weird and different. Unsure of what to do, Julie worries that she won’t win if everyone doesn’t like her running mate. Thanks to the creativity of her friends, Julie wins the election and becomes student body president!
