Back to School with American Girl Pop-Up Museum Exhibit
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! FIRST-EVER POP-UP EXHIBIT! FREE TICKETS ARE REQUIRED!
Blake Changnon and The Changnon Family Museum of Toys and Collectibles is proud to present our very first in-person pop-up museum exhibit event: Back to School with American Girl.
On Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Connie Morella Library, visitors will step into a special showcase highlighting the beloved American Girl Historical Characters and their “school story” collections.
Registration for free tickets opens September 1, 2025.
To celebrate the back-to-school season, this pop-up exhibit features rare and original items from the school-themed collections of Felicity, Josefina, Kirsten, Addy, Samantha, Kit, and Molly. These treasured artifacts come directly from the museum’s extensive archive, which honors the legacy and storytelling power of Pleasant Company and American Girl.
Travel through American history as you explore how each of the seven original Historical Characters experienced education in her unique time and place—from Addy’s lessons at the Sixth Street School to Molly’s wartime classroom on the WWII home front. You will see beautifully preserved desks, lunchboxes, books, and other accessories that bring these stories to life.
This is a hands-off exhibit designed to protect these fragile, one-of-a-kind items. Visitors of all ages are welcome, though we recommend this experience for ages nine and up. Registration for free tickets opens September 1, 2025, and each group will be assigned a 15-minute time slot to view the collection. Groups will be contacted prior to the event with an assigned fifteen minute time slot to walk through the collection.
We invite you to celebrate history, storytelling, and school days—American Girl style. Learn more here and register to get tickets.
