One of the true highlights of American Girlhood: A Window into History at the Heinz History Center last weekend was meeting Wendy Wan-Long Shang, the brilliant author behind the Corinne books. And yes—she signed my book!

I loved hearing Wendy reflect on her research process, especially how she brought Corinne’s story to life during the pandemic. Her thoughtful approach and deep care for both the character and her world truly shone through. It gave me a whole new appreciation for Corinne’s journey.
