The Changnon Family Museum of Toys and Collectibles preserves, acquires, educates and inspires children of all ages through the collection generously on loan by the Changnon family.

Toys

Our collection of toys documents objects such as dolls and figurines that children have loved and cherished throughout the years, but most importantly these objects showcase the impact they have made in today’s society.

Our inaugural exhibit, American Girl: 35 Years of Strong Characters, showcases Blake Changnon’s extensive American Girl collection and celebrates the toy company’s 35th anniversary of creating strong, courageous and heroic characters living and growing up in different times in America’s history.

Collectibles

Our assortment of collectibles documents everyday objects such as Christmas ornaments, decorative objects and books. These objects may not have been important back then, but over time have made a significant impact on society.

Our second exhibit (and the first to highlight our collectibles), Childhood Nostalgia: A Collection of Pleasant Company and American Girl Catalogues, showcases Blake Changnon’s extensive collection of catalogues from the renowned toy company.

“The American Girl experience is more than just a collection of toys. It is a collection of magical moments filled with goodness -moments that will nourish a little [child’s] spirit, send [their] imagination soaring, and make [their] dreams come true.”

— Pleasant T. Rowland, Founder, American Girl
