Meet Emily

Meet Emily Bennet, a shy, brave and kind English girl, who has been sent to live with her Aunt Primrose in Jefferson, Illinois to escape the bombing of London in 1944. However, when her aunt comes down with pneumonia, she stays with Molly’s family. At first, shy when she arrives, she doesn’t see how she can be “a brave soldier” like her parents want her to be.

Emily’s best friend, Molly tries hard to make her feel at home and slowly opens up. She is appreciative of Molly’s friendship and happy that she can help her new best friend with her homework, especially math. But when Emily makes a mistake and asks Molly for help does she realize how brave she really is and what friendship truly means.

Introduced to children in 2006 as Molly's best friend, Emily Bennet and her story represent the tail end of World War II. Emily is sent to Jefferson, Illinois by her family to protect her from the intensity of the English battlefront during World War II. Her story takes place in 1944.

Renowned author Valerie Tripp wrote Emily's story. A movie about Molly was released in 2006 starring Troy Green as Emily. Emily and her entire collection were archived in 2013 when Molly was archived.
