Maryellen Learns a Lesson

When Maryellen finds out that she can participate in Science Club next year and start in the summer by inventing a flying machine, she is beyond excited! She can’t wait to sign up and start brainstorming ideas over the summer with her friends. But when she finds out that she is the only girl in the club, she’s embarrassed. 

Maryellen finds out that she is the only girl on her team and she is less than enthusiastic. She is treated less than and is asked to write notes just because she’s a girl. But when her ideas are dismissed by the boys, she decides to build a flying machine of her own. Together with her friends, she creates a one-of-a-kind rocket that is ready to soar!
