Happy Birthday, Kit
Kit’s tenth birthday is almost here, but she knows the chances of having a big celebration are small. With her daily chores and no money, there is no time to plan a party as well. But when Kit’s Aunt Millie makes a surprise visit, there might be hope for a celebration! When Aunt Millie shares her thrifty ways and tips, Kit, Ruthie and Sterling have an idea to create the “Aunt Millie’s Waste-Not, Want-Not Almanac” so they can remember all her great ideas.
While selling eggs, Kit and Sterling find Grace, a stray dog. They decide to bring her home in hopes that Aunt Millie can help. Things seem to be going great, but when Aunt Millie invites Kit’s entire class to her “Penny-Pincher '' birthday party, Kit is embarrassed and upset. When she returns home, she finds that Aunt Millie has left to go home. Is there anything Kit can do to bring her back?
