Courtney Makes a Difference
Courtney’s favorite place to hang out is Orange Valley Mall! It’s especially the best place to hang during the hot afternoons after school since it has air-conditioning. Plus, there is so much to do such as playing PAC-MAN at the arcade with her best friends, Kip and Sarah, and visiting her step-father’s store, D’Amico Electronics.
When Courtney meets a new boy named Issac at the arcade, they become best friends. Issac has great ideas about Courtney’s Crystal Starshooter game. When Issac doesn’t show up at the arcade, Courtney worries. She soon finds out that Issac is fighting his own battle—a battle called HIV. Courtney supports him and wants to help, but doing so puts her friendship with Sarah at risk. She’s unsure what to do. What would Crystal Starshooter do?
