Caroline Takes a Chance

Summer has just begun and Caroline is slowly waiting for the supply boats to arrive in Sackets Harbor. The very same supplies will help the family’s shipyard build boats to help fight the British, so it is important that they arrive sooner rather than later!

When Caroline and her friends, Rhonda and Seth, decide to use Papa’s skiff, or small boat, to go fishing, they spot their first supply boat. However, when they realize that the boat is being cashed by the British they decide that they need to help. Caroline comes up with a plan that could work, but it is dangerous. She’s not sure if it will work or be a risk. There’s no time—she must act now!
